8 Humoresques, Op. 101, B. 187: N° 3, Poco andante e molto cantabile • Antonín Dvořák (Daniel Barenboim)
One of eight portraits of our humors by Dvořák, this piece greets me like a botanical garden. Intricate, inviting, delicate, and something worth preserving.

La nuit des Parachutes • Terrenoire

This lulls me into jumping into the night.
Dreamy mood
A Brittle Filament • The One AM Radio
Rough mood
Gilded Lily • Cults
What we hear
Haven't given enough?
Haven't given enough?
Haven't given enough?
Always the fool with the slowest heart
But I know you'll take me with you
We'll live in spaces between walls
What I feel
The refrain claims exasperation—emphatically! The energy reflects frequent moments I feel raising my kids, at work, and earlier times in life as I tried to comply with Mormonism.
The repeated question might be a plea of exhaustion, but appears rooted in hope. One day I’ll figure “it” out. Even if I have to stumble and keep giving. In the meantime, I can find myself in the spaces between walls.
